Testing Super C

For those of you using Centro, your videos are formated QCELP (which is a proprietary) that is not supported with just about every thing I tired in terms of freeware conversion, there is a solution.  I finally found a freeware call Super C that is wonderful. I highly suggest this for video conversion if you are using a Centro with 3g2.

I have been fiddling around with Apt-Lite on my Palm Centro for some weeks now. I knew from the start that this gem was robust. Probably overwhelming to newcomers. However, with some reading and testing of the manual, anyone can use it. The key is to start slow and use the examples given in the manual to test it out. Once you do you will be amazed at what can be done on your device. I dare to say that my Palm is ten times more powerful then my Treo 700 running WM. I have been astounded at how quickly I have embraced or re-embraced the Palm platform even though it is probably dying from what I can see. 


Anyhow, here are some screens of the various things you can do on your Palm. I even set my palm to go back to last app opened with a figure swipe from right to left on my screen! Furthermore, I gave a boost to my Propel Launcher by placing tap points on the upper left and right of my screen to adjust brightness up and down by 20%. Oh yeah!!!!

To the right you see the stroke screen. This is the screen that appears when you need to set your stroke motion by moving your stylus (or finger as in my case) to create a macro of movement for an action to be assigned to it.



This screen is an example of a settings screen depicting a tap setup. In this particular shot the application Calc will have a tap area in the screen that will allow the user to go back to applications when finished. All of your programs have settings screens just like this. The possibilities for combinations are endless! For example, I use the Blazer Browser for the web a lot. Frequently i need to access my passwords. I can create any control I want to trigger my password application DA to pop up to quickly copy my login info into Blazer so I never have to loose my place to fill in my passwords. Whooohoooo!



This next screen depicts the star menu that can be customized to create different controls. This is yet another of the many ways you can jump to controls or apps.

Lazy Summer Days

Have tested a couple of freewares since I had a bit of time. Still looking for a good alternative to Resco Explorer. Not ready to pay for a file explorer for the Cento considering there are freewares available. For now, Palm Commander is my favorite. Neither it or Filez supports the Centro's 5 way navigation. However, Palm Commander handles compression of programs/files, backup, remapping of hard keys and more.

Testing Electric Pocket's BugMe! on Centro

I am testing BugMe! on the Palm Centro. I ceated a new note using the shape tool. I saved my note but as you can see, it seem really tiny and the shapes are crowed to the edge of the .jpg. What I love about BugMe! is that the interface if very simple. Plus you can download a companion plugin that will allow you to capture your Palm's screen and save it as an alarm note. BugMe! comes with a set of very nice editing tools as well such as shape tools (shown below with an example of the square shape tool and circle shape tool), pen, paint bucket, text entry, font color etc... A very nice feature that comes in really handy is a hyperlinks feature. Whenever you enter phone numbers or urls using the text entry tool, the link becomes live allowing the user to tap it to dial a number go browse a url directly!

Stained Glass Details

These are some details of the stained glass project I did with some fellow artists. We had a ton of fun with it. It isn't real stained glass. The glass is actually painted on. However, the leading is real. We had a lot of fun doing this for the 8th grade graduating class. 

The frame is hand made by the husband of one of the other artist. The glass was extremely heavy so we pasted a template to the back to work on it. Unfortunately, we weren't able to see how the paint was covering until the end when it was finally mounted on a stand that was similar to a mirror.

Testing Vox Mobile on a Centro

Here is my first blog. Just a quick text from my Centro. Using Vox on a Palm Smartphone. Nice little app. This blog shows Vox with it's attachment capabilities. Here I have attached a small pic that happens to be included in the photo library of the Palm Centro.
